Today is Disability Mentoring Day in Wrangell. In conjunction with this day, KSTK's Tony Gorman profiles Wrangell's new mayor, who didn't let a medical condition stop him from pursuing his goals.
This week, Krissy Smith was appointed to the Wrangell School Board. Smith, who has experience working with children through her day care center, fills a vacant seat left by former School Board President Georgianna Buhler. Buhler resigned earlier this year. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.
Over 1,000 runners and walkers from Alaska and Canada descended onto Skagway this past weekend to participate in the 27th Annual Klondike Trail of '98 International Road Relay. It's a race that stretches across 110 miles and ends in Whitehorse, Canada. KSTK's Lisa Phu journeyed to the famed event with a team from southeast and files this story.
