Wrangell Mayor discusses experiences on Disability Mentoring Day

Today is Disability Mentoring Day in Wrangell. The borough is encouraging all Wrangellites to recognize the potential of people with disabilities and to work toward their integration into the work force. In conjunction with this day, KSTK's Tony Gorman profiles Wrangell's new mayor, who didn't let a medical condition stop him from pursuing his goals.

Day care center owner appointed to Wrangell School Board

This week, Krissy Smith was appointed to the Wrangell School Board. Smith, who has experience working with children through her day care center, fills a vacant seat left by former School Board President Georgianna Buhler. Buhler resigned earlier this year. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.

'In The Now' debuts at the Klondike Road Relay

Over 1,000 runners and walkers from Alaska and Canada descended onto Skagway this past weekend to participate in the 27th Annual Klondike Trail of '98 International Road Relay. It's a race that stretches across 110 miles and ends in Whitehorse, Canada. KSTK's Lisa Phu journeyed to the famed event with a team from southeast and files this story.
