PowerSchool gives power to parents

WRANGELL, ALASKA PowerSchool is a web-based student information system which made its debut in the Wrangell middle and high schools at the beginning of the school year. More recently, the component of PowerSchool that allows parent accessibility was launched. This means parents can look at their child's grades whenever they want. KSTK's Lisa Phu looks at how this is affecting the teachers, the parents, and the students.

Forest Service seeks input on new Anan master plan, mooring float

A controversial dock project at the Anan Wildlife Observatory near Wrangell was scrapped last fall after it was found to be too expensive, and now the U.S. Forest Service has a new draft plan for accessing the observatory and for constructing additional improvements. The Wrangell Ranger District is asking for public input this month before moving forward with its construction plans. more
