A number of events are coming to the local Nolan Center in Wrangell. Civic Center Director Terry Henson says she has been working to get more information out about the center and what it has to offer.

Electric boiler project nears completion

A 2-year City project to replace oil fire boilers with electric boilers is nearly complete. The Wrangell Boiler project was funded by a grant through AEA Renewable Energy Fund to replace old boilers in town with electric boilers. The 3 buildings with new boilers are already seeing savings.

Coalition seeks funding for U.S. seafood marketing

A local nonprofit is working to get federal funding to promote the U.S. seafood industry.The National Seafood Marketing Coalition is an initiative by the United Fisherman of Alaska that was formed in January of 2010. The Coalition is looking to gain consistent federal funding to promote better marketing and research for seafood producers nationwide.
