Adze work underway in Wrangell

Adze work is in full swing at the Wrangell Carving Shed. This past week master carvers have been offering locals the chance to learn how to craft their own tool and begin adzing training, in the hopes of developing a group of local carvers in Wrangell. Vandalism reported at Chief Shakes Island

The Wrangell Cooperative Association says sometime on the night of Saturday, August 13th a fire and party was held on the back side of the island and tribal house. WCA Events Coordinator Britany Lindley says the remains of a fire just 10-ft from the tribal house as well as empty beer containers were found on the island.
