Last week Fox News revealed that former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette wrote a new memoir about the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden, “No Easy Day.” Bissonnette’s family used to live in Wrangell but he grew up in Aniak, a village near Bethel. Though the media initially cried foul saying that the book could cause security problems and Fox News was endangering the author, some opinions have recently shifted. Monday the New York Post reported that Bissonnette is discussing a movie deal with Stephen Spielberg.
Brandon Webb is a former Navy SEAL and author of another SEAL operations book, “The Red Circle.” He edits the blog SOFREP.com, which discusses issues related to US Special Forces. KSTK’s Anne Hillman spoke with him. Webb says that the new book may not be such a bad thing.
