Kids gather at the library’s first ‘Storytime’ of the season

The public library has started its fall schedule for story time. Kids hear stories based on a theme, participate in a crafts project and go home with a snack in hand. KSTK’s Ariel Van Cleave sat in on this week’s gathering and brought back this audio postcard.
The kids listen as Sarah Merritt reads a story to them during the library’s “Storytime”.
The voices featured in this postcard belong to Clara and Jackson Carney, Judah and Kiah Bylon, Josie Griffiths, Andrei Siekawitch, Sydnie Young, Everett and Jenna Meissner, Carsyn Christian, and Connor Blake.
“Storytime” happens every Thursday at the public library beginning at 10 a.m.
After changing the borough’s property tax due date earlier this year, the Wrangell Borough Assembly is trying to give property owners one year to adjust to the change. more
The Wrangell Cooperative Association cut the ribbon on its cultural center and carving shed Saturday, completing the second phase of the tribe’s three-part Native cultural revival plan. The center will serve as a place for recreating eight sacred totem poles and for teaching Native arts. more
