Kids gather at the library’s first ‘Storytime’ of the season

The public library has started its fall schedule for story time. Kids hear stories based on a theme, participate in a crafts project and go home with a snack in hand. KSTK’s Ariel Van Cleave sat in on this week’s gathering and brought back this audio postcard.
The kids listen as Sarah Merritt reads a story to them during the library’s “Storytime”.
The voices featured in this postcard belong to Clara and Jackson Carney, Judah and Kiah Bylon, Josie Griffiths, Andrei Siekawitch, Sydnie Young, Everett and Jenna Meissner, Carsyn Christian, and Connor Blake.
“Storytime” happens every Thursday at the public library beginning at 10 a.m.
The candidate filing period closed Monday for Wrangell’s local election. There are only two contested seats this year, and they are both on the Wrangell Public School Board. more
A California man was found dead Tuesday morning on a fishing vessel in Wrangell. Wrangell Police Chief Doug McCloskey said police were notified around 6 a.m. and recovered the body from Wrangell’s downtown harbor. more
