We have a special update on a special dog that’s finally home safe.
You’ve probably heard announcements on the radio or maybe you’ve been following the updates on our Facebook page about Shelby, the lost dog from Petersburg.
Of course this isn’t the first time a pet’s been lost and found in Wrangell. But there was something about this dog and its owners’ desperate search that caught the attention of local Wrangellites and KSTK listeners as far away as California alike.
Here’s the story of Shelby’s unlikely adventure.
Wrangell’s Borough Assembly took a small step towards a potential 400-bed boarding school in Wrangell June 28. The assembly also made changes to borough employee’s health care premiums.
The assembly passed a resolution in support of the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program – or ANSEP, an accelerated learning program based on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. more
Wrangell’s Ranger District held two public meetings this week allowing the public and Wrangell’s Borough Assembly to get a better look at a potential 5,000 acre timber sale on Wrangell Island. more
