On March 29, 1973 the last United States combat troops left South Vietnam, ending America’s involvement in the Vietnam War.

Governor Sean Parnell signed legislation designating March 29th, 2013 Vietnam Veteran’s Day in honor of those who served four decades ago.

KSTK’s Shady Grove Oliver was at the memorial flag raising early Friday morning at City Hall in Wrangell and sent back this audio postcard.
