The summer solstice was one week ago. Dozens of locals and seasonal workers headed downtown for the solstice party. It was also the unofficial Fourth of July kickoff. KSTK’s Shady Grove Oliver was at the event and sent back this audio postcard.

The jury reached a verdict in the State v. Ely trial at about 2:30 Friday afternoon in Wrangell. The defendant, Wrangell resident Douglas Ely, was found guilty on all counts.
Wrangell’s Borough Manager Tim Rooney has decided to take a job as the new city manager in Mustang, Oklahoma. He’s bidding farewell to mountain and muskeg and saying howdy to the great Midwest.
