The summer solstice was one week ago. Dozens of locals and seasonal workers headed downtown for the solstice party.
It was also the unofficial Fourth of July kickoff. KSTK’s Shady Grove Oliver was at the event and sent back this audio postcard.

At the solstice party he asked to be a KSTK intern reporter for the evening.

Wrangell could soon be part of the farm-to-table trend. Wrangell resident, Dixie Booker, is a finalist in Sealaska’s Path to Prosperity, a contest for entrepreneurs to get their businesses of the ground. Booker hopes to supply Wrangell with fresh produce. … more
For the time being, the city water system has stabilized, but the crisis is not over. Everyone still needs to conserve and keep finding ways to cut water consumption. It is now raining but the amount of water is not the problem. The problem is; our water treatment plant can’t treat water fast enough to keep up with the demand. more
