The regular elections for the City and Borough of Wrangell are October 1st.
For the next month, KSTK will bring you overviews of the important issues and items you can expect to see on the ballot.
As part of this coverage, we’ll feature interviews with the candidates running for elected positions.
There are two people vying for the position of mayor. They are current mayor David Jack and Kipha Valvoda.
Valvoda currently sits on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Alaska Native Sisterhood is celebrating its 100th anniversary this week in Wrangell—where it was founded—in conjunction with the Alaska Native Brotherhood and sisterhood Grand Camp annual convention. The Native rights group is honoring its past while contemplating its future. more
All incumbent candidates were re-elected to their positions in Tuesday's local election. Preliminary results show that proposition two narrowly passed, which makes Wrangell elected officials exempt from state financial disclosure laws. more
