The regular elections for the City and Borough of Wrangell are October 1st.

For the next month, KSTK will bring you overviews of the important issues and items you can expect to see on the ballot.
As part of this coverage, we’ll feature interviews with the candidates running for elected positions.
There are three seats open on the Assembly. Ernie Christian, Maxi Wiederspohn, and Billie Younce are running for Seat B. Julie Decker is running for Seat E and Daniel Blake is running for Seat F.
Blake currently sits on the Economic Development Committee. KSTK’s Shady Grove Oliver spoke with him about his candidacy for the upcoming term.
Fifty Southeast Alaska business-owners are asking Congress to give more money to the Tongass National Forest recreation program. Funding for trails, cabins and wildlife-viewing sites has declined in recent years, and tour operators worry the Forest Service won’t be able to maintain the attractions they depend on. more
