St. Frances fixes Wrangell’s feral cat problem

They roamed the streets, getting into trash and nesting in condemned buildings. Now, it’s hard to even find a cat downtown because of the hard work of one lady.

Assembly to discuss “cease and desist” letter to SEAPA

The regular meeting of the borough assembly is Tuesday, April 22, at 7pm. The assembly will discuss a letter sent by Thomas Bay Power Commission President James Stough to the Southeast Alaska Power Agency, or SEAPA.

WMC board plans for new hospital facilities

The regular meeting of the Wrangell Medical Center board was Wednesday, April 16th. It discussed hospital renovations, program updates, and worker’s compensation claims.

Patrick Mayer named new school superintendent

The Wrangell school board held a special meeting Wednesday, April 16 to discuss a potential hire. The board approved offering a contract to Patrick Mayer for the position of superintendent of schools for the 2014 – 2015 school year.
