Middle Ridge cabin

A popular U.S. Forest Service cabin near Wrangell reopened Friday after damage due to vandalism forced its closure.

Randy Griffith of the Wrangell Ranger District said Forest Service staff repaired the woodstove and a broken table at Middle Ridge cabin. They also replaced the bunk boards and patched up carvings.

Damage to the cabin, which is the only cabin on the road system, occurred sometime last week.
