New strong and fit program at parks and rec

Health fair draws more than just blood

The Nolan Center was buzzing during this year's annual health fair, which took place on Saturday. Kids and adults milled around the civic center entering prize drawings, getting their blood taken, and learning valuable information on how to live healthier lives. KSTK's Lisa Phu visited the blood drawing station and some of the booths to find out what health opportunities exist right here in Wrangell.

New additions to 2008 health fair

Doors open at 7 am Saturday morning for the 2008 Health Fair taking place at the Nolan Center. There will be close to 50 booths promoting health in Wrangell and southeast, and almost every booth will have a door prize. Forest service looks at firewood resource problem

Last week the Wrangell Ranger District made what they now deem a "rash decision." They announced the suspension of their commercial firewood permitting process. This lasted for roughly a day before the decision was reversed due to overwhelming public opposition. Wednesday night, the forest service held a public meeting to discuss the future of Wrangell local firewood resource. KSTK's Lisa Phu reports.
