WRANGELL, ALASKA It's been a hundred years since the Star of Bengal left Wrangell for San Francisco carrying over a 130 passengers, 52,000 cases of canned Wrangell salmon, and dozens of empty oil drums. Early the following morning, a sudden September storm caused the Star of Bengal to wreck on the rocks off the southern tip of Coronation Island. Only 22 survived.
