Wrangell School District Launches Breakfast and Lunch Program

Students in the Wrangell School District will no longer have to go far to get a meal during school hours. For the first time, the School District was able to provide hot meals to students through its new breakfast and lunch program. Before the program began, students would eat breakfast at home and bring their own lunches to school. In some cases, the District allowed older students to purchase meals at local businesses. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more on how the first day of the program went.

Creating a regional solid waste authority on upcoming ballot

On October 6, Wrangell voters will get to vote 'Yes' or 'No' to the creation of a regional solid waste management authority in southeast. Voting 'Yes' would create the opportunity for southeast communities to deal with their own waste as opposed to shipping it down south. KSTK's Lisa Phu reports.
