Wrangell School District Superintendent Woody Wilson has resigned. The School Board accepted his resignation at this week's regular meeting. Wilson will finish his second stint in Wrangell on June 30, 2011. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.

The Alaska-British Columbia Intertie was at the top of Wrangell's priority list for most of last year. With other projects like the new Wrangell Medical Center and local road improvements on the horizon, the proposed transmission line has slowly become an afterthought in recent weeks. Last week, the 51st Annual Wrangell King Salmon Derby officially came to a close with the awards ceremony at the Nolan Center. Randy Churchill, Jr. was this year's winner with a 43-pounder caught at Found Island. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.

The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce held its Third Annual Smoked Salmon Contest at the Elk's Lodge over the weekend. Arlene Woodward beat out nine competitors to win the fairly new event. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.
