Last week, an architect and management team were selected to design the new Wrangell Medical Center and Long-Term Care Facility. The team will consist of two Tennessee-based companies that specialize in the development of rural and community health care facilities. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.

Sydnee Waggoner's musical abilities have taken her many places and she hopes they will lead to bigger things. Before winning the 2009 Miss Alaska Pageant, Waggoner was trained in performing arts from classical music to opera. After graduating from high school in 2005, opera became her sole focus. Waggoner was in Wrangell, over the weekend, for the Wrangell Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament and was able to share her unique talent with locals during a special show. A hunting accident in near Wrangell has left a bear guide from Wasilla dead. The incident happened near the Bradfield Canal over the weekend. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.

This year's Fourth of July Royalty Contestants were announced over the weekend at the Stikine Inn. Each year, individuals and groups sell tickets for the city's Fourth of July Celebration. The money from this year's sales will help fund next year's event. This year's field consists of two individuals and a group of girls. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.

The Wrangell Medical Center Foundation enjoyed great weather and another huge turnout during its annual golf tournament. Participants from around from the region and state came out to hit the links and support the new Wrangell Medical Center. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.
