Miss Alaska wows Wrangell in opera concert

Sydnee Waggoner's musical abilities have taken her many places and she hopes they will lead to bigger things. Before winning the 2009 Miss Alaska Pageant, Waggoner was trained in performing arts from classical music to opera. After graduating from high school in 2005, opera became her sole focus. Waggoner was in Wrangell, over the weekend, for the Wrangell Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament and was able to share her unique talent with locals during a special show. Fourth of July Royalty Contestants announced

This year's Fourth of July Royalty Contestants were announced over the weekend at the Stikine Inn. Each year, individuals and groups sell tickets for the city's Fourth of July Celebration. The money from this year's sales will help fund next year's event. This year's field consists of two individuals and a group of girls. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.
