A local cafe is supporting a global nonprofit to end world hunger. Zak’s Café is offering pay what you can meals every Monday. Money generated from the meals will go to Heifer International.

Girls on the Run is back. For the third consecutive year Wrangell girls in third through fifth grade can participate in a 12-week program that organizers say is not just about running.

A new playground design is in the works for Evergreen Elementary School. A meeting was held Tuesday night (3/8) to discuss the new design of the playground.

Father Michael Oleksa visited Wrangell to discuss culture and it’s meanings at the Nolan Center’s Chautauqua lecture series (3/3). Oleksa discussed Alaskan culture and what changes he has seen in SE Alaska over the years.
