Planning continues on the new hospital replacement project, and for the first time Saturday, September 10th members of the City and Borough Assembly met with the hospital architect to discuss the project and get an update on its status. The Alaska state government stopped providing adult flu vaccinations at the end of last year, and since then local health and community organizations have been working together to create a plan on how to supply low cost flu shots to the community. After nearly 2-years of researching, background checks, saving, and planning a local Wrangell doctor and his wife have recently left for Uganda to adopt two little girls. KSTK’s Charlotte Duren caught up with the couple before their flight to find out more about their adoption process and some things they plan to do while in Uganda.
