Assembly to discuss pesticides, sales tax, logging

The Borough Assembly is holding its regular meeting this evening at City Hall. The assembly has several large items on the table for discussion.

District 2 Little League tournament wrapped up Sunday in Wrangell. After a grueling week of games, Sitka has come out on top.

Selle-Rea named interim admin at SEARHC’s Sitka hospital

Former Wrangell Medical Center CEO, Noel Selle-Rea, has been named the interim hospital administrator at SEARHC in Sitka. SEARHC is the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium.

Salard named hospital chief of staff

Dr. Lynn Prysunka has been the Chief of Staff at the hospital for several years. WMC reports that Dr. Prysunka handed in her letter of resignation from that position on July 8th.

Police confirm death of Wrangell resident

66-year old Robert Soderlund of Wrangell was confirmed dead Monday night. Police Chief Doug McCloskey says at this point in time, it does not appear that anyone other than the victim was involved in the incident.
