Letter calls on SEAPA, assemblies to “cease and desist”

The borough assembly last night voted to postpone discussion of a controversial letter until the next regular meeting. The letter calls for the Southeast Alaska Power Agency and the borough assemblies of Wrangell and Petersburg to “cease and desist” negotiations until Thomas Bay can play a more active role.

Community Wide Disaster Drill

On Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014, at 6:00 pm, Wrangell will hold an inter-agency disaster drill. The purpose of this drill is to give Wrangell’s emergency responders and medical teams the opportunity to practice their response in the event of a community wide emergency. This event will be a drill, not a real emergency . No action from community members will need to be taken.
