The jury trial of a Wrangell doctor accused of possessing and distributing child pornography has been bumped nearly two months.
Doctor Greg Salard’s defense attorney asked for delay until Feb. 23, 2015, so that a computer forensics expert can review the evidence gathered by prosecutors.
Salard is facing two federal felony charges for possession and distribution of child pornography. He is being held at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau.
Salard was employed by Alaska Island Community Services as one of four medical providers in Wrangell. AICS and Wrangell Medical Center suspended Salard’s medical privileges when he was arrested at his home Oct. 15.
Within a few weeks, he surrendered his Alaska medical license and lost his job at AICS.
