Wrangell Public Schools is getting a new superintendent. The school board selected Debbe Lancaster, whom signed a three-year contract with the district. She will receive a starting salary of $107,000 a year.

Lancaster comes from the North Slope Borough School District in Barrow, Alaska. There she served as a teacher, principal and program administrator.  She will start July of this year.

Wrangell’s current superintendent is Patrick Mayer. He has been with the district for four years. He came to Wrangell after working as a high school principal in Delta Junction.
