Talk on the Rock is KSTK’s live call-in show. Every Tuesday at 1pm we welcome a local guest to discuss events and topics of interest to our little island town. For today’s episode, host June Leffler spoke with Americorps volunteers Kara Riley and Daniel Claypoole about their upcoming community projects in Wrangell. The team is spending three months in town doing maintenance for the Forest Service’s cabins, trails and Anan Observatory. They’re also working on a mural in honor of the marine services in town. Daniel and Kara also told us about their experience doing disaster relief during Hurricane Harvey, and how Wrangell offers them a bit of a calmer pace from their past work.
