Since 2014, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has recruited citizen scientists to monitor bats in Southeast Alaska. Volunteers in seven communities track bats’ high-pitched sounds, used for echolocation. KSTK’s June Leffler spoke with biologist Tory Rhoads.

Rhoads will present data findings and recruit for survey volunteers in Wrangell. She will present at the local ranger district office today (Monday) at 6:30 PM.
