Devyn Johnson formed a new non-profit in town to help families cover the costs of final arrangements. (June Leffler/ KSTK)

Talk on the Rock is KSTK’s live call-in show. Every Tuesday at 1pm we welcome a local guest to discuss events and topics of interest to our little island town. For this week’s episode, host June Leffler spoke with Devyn Johnson. She is a local, mom of three, and runs a daycare in town. And she recently formed a non-profit to help families who have just lost a loved one. Devyn remembers when her mother passed away three years ago. She says that time was meant for grieving, but instead she was overwhelmed with figuring out how to pay for and arrange the cremation/funeral. She has since formed Wrangell Burial Assistance to cover some of the cost and answer questions regarding final arrangements.
