Wrangell’s high school and middle school principal has left the district. David Macri resigned last week, acording to Superintendent Debbe Lancaster.

Lancaster said Macri had planned to leave at the end of the school year, but his exit in March was sudden.

The district did not say why Macri left, citing school policy regarding personnel. The district did not make it immediately clear whether Macri resign or was terminated.

Macri was about to wrap up his second year as principal.

High School social studies teacher Jack Carney has assumed the secondary principal role until the end of May.
