Manager Von Bargen gives an update on the isolation facility, fondly referred to as the Covid Condo. Shelter training with the Red Cross takes place on the 12th.
State information indicates that the trajectory of new cases has changed in Alaska, but the mandates have not changed. Future mandate changes could occur if hospital bed capacity is exhausted. The state also indicates that businesses that are not considered critical infrastructure, may open up without submitting a safety plan to the state. All businesses and individuals are asked to follow CDC guidelines for sanitization, hand washing, distancing and wearing face coverings.
The Wrangell Assembly is attempting to organizing a virtual town hall next Thursday with Dr. Zink and other Department of Health Officials to answer community questions. Details will be coming.
