Wrangell’s Unified Command was notified of a fourth confirmed COVID-19 case. The patient was identified through the State’s airport testing program. The patient is currently in quarantine. Public Health is currently monitoring 30 close contacts or publicly identified individuals to the first three identified confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wrangell.

Public Health Officials are investigating the case to identify a source and conduct contact tracing. A Public Health representative will notify persons who may have come in close contact with the individual. Questions about close contact should be directed to Public Health Nurse Erin Michael at 907.772.4611.


COVID-19 testing is available in Wrangell to all patients who meet current symptomatic criteria. Please call the SEARHC COVID-19 Hotline at 907.966.8799 to schedule an appointment. Patients with chronic illnesses, or considered high-risk, should contact their provider immediately if they show symptoms. Low-risk patients should self-isolate should they become sick. Continued adherence to virus preventive practices, as well as State and local health mandates, is highly recommended.
