Wrangell’s EOC representative Jamie Roberts and Carly Allen with SEARHC discuss Governor Dunleavy’s new travel mandate that begins August 11, 2020, provide the current case count and remind everyone how you can stay healthy and slow the community spread of COVID-19.
Wrangell has experienced fifteen positive COVID-19 cases to date. Ten of those have recovered and 5 are active and still in isolation. For information on quarantine and self isolation, information is available at covid19.alaska.gov website.
The state data hub, covid19.alaska.gov, has been updated and information is easier to find. Alaska has experienced a total of 4,150 COVID cases to date. That’s 2,777 more cases than one month ago. 22 Alaskans have died of COVID-19.
SEARHC is still offering free asymptomatic testing Saturdays and Sundays 11 am to 3 pm. No appointment necessary. Currently testing is the best tool to identify and isolate cases and to keep Wrangell as safe as possible.
