Talk on the Rock is KSTK’s live call-in show. Every Tuesday at 1pm we welcome a local guest to discuss events and topics of interest to our little island town. For this week’s episode, host Sage Smiley spoke with Wrangell Chamber of Commerce President Apryl Hutchinson, Chamber of Commerce Director Stephanie Cook, and Board Member Mya Delong about upcoming “Shop Local” events.

This weekend (November 13-15), participating local businesses will stamp cards for every $10 dollars spent. Filled cards can be dropped at the Stikine Inn before November 16 at 1 p.m. for a chance to win $500 dollars. There will also be a selfie contest, which counts for additional entries towards winning the $500 dollars.

Now more than ever, it’s important to shop local. Think of local businesses when planning for holiday shopping this year! That’s money that gets put back into the community and local services.
