Another Wrangell resident has tested positive for COVID-19, city officials said Monday evening.

This is Wrangell’s 25th case of COVID-19, and the second positive in the last two weeks. The case is the only active one in the community; twenty-four others who were previously diagnosed have since recovered.

City officials said Monday evening that the case is asymptomatic and in isolation after testing positive, adding that the case is not travel-related.

The city says the State Section of Epidemiology has been notified and that Public Health officials will begin contact tracing shortly.

COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic community members is available free of charge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. If you are symptomatic or have other COVID-related questions, call SEARHC’s COVID-19 hotline at (907) 966-8799.
