Episode 45: Wrangell’s Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tracey Martin spoke with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about everything going on at the Chamber during the first half of this year. From the membership drive to planning for the Fourth of July, Martin talked about why supporting the Chamber is important for the community. She mentioned the Birthday Calendar Scholarship that high school seniors can apply for.

She also talked about what it means to run as a Royalty candidate, which is a significant fundraiser for the Chamber. Interested people can apply at the Chamber office. Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner will be March 15. The Chamber will recognize community members and business for their level of achievement in Wrangell. Anyone can attend the dinner and tickets are available at the Chamber office.

Lastly, The Chamber of Commerce is also supporting Business classes. One is hosted by Spruce Root on March 7 with a Feb. 19 registration deadline. The other, which is a class on demand, will be hosted by Alaska Small Business Development Center. Additionally, the Irene Public Library and the Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting a Canva Workshop on Feb. 15 at the library from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
