There are two, three-year term seats open on the school board during the Oct. 7 City and Borough of Wrangell municipal elections.
Jayme Howell recently filed as a write-in candidate for one of the seats.
She will be running against four others: Bonnie Ritchie, Brittani Robbins, and incumbents Liz Roundtree and David Wilson.
According to the city clerk, those who want to vote for a write-in candidate must write in the candidate’s name in the space provided. The name needs to be written as it appears on the letter of intent with the borough clerk. Additionally, the voter has to fill in the oval opposite the candidate’s name.
The municipal election is Oct. 7 at the Nolan Center, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
