There are five openings on three separate Wrangell Municipal boards and commissions, with the borough advertising for applicants to fill the volunteer positions.
The assembly will select from among the applicants next month.
There is a vacancy on the five-member planning and zoning commission, which works on land-use issues. The opening is for a three-year term.
There are two openings on the five-member convention and visitor bureau, which advises borough officials and the assembly on tourism and visitor promotional issues. Both vacancies are three-year terms.
And there are two openings on the five-member economic development board, which works with City Hall and the assembly on initiatives to build the town’s economy. Both openings are three-year terms.
Anyone interested in serving on one of these boards needs to drop off or mail a letter of interest to the borough clerk at City Hall, PO Box 531. Or, email clerk@wrangell.com. The deadline for letters of interest is 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
The Wrangell Borough Assembly is scheduled to appoint people to the seats at its Oct. 13 meeting.
