Episode 32: Wrangellites Stephen Prysunka and Anna Allen recently traveled to Wisconsin with their dogs for a Canine Search and Rescue training. They talk with KSTK’s News Director Colette Czarnecki about what goes on in a CSAR training, what inspired them to train Search and Rescue dogs and the growth they’ve witnessed with their own pups from the training. Allen also brought her own SAR dog, Seager, who also interacted in the session.

Wrangell Assembly preview: approving a federal loan for the Public Safety Building, increasing launch permits and auctioning off Industrial Park land

Wrangell voters approved funding to rehabilitate the Public Safety Building in the municipal election earlier this month. Next, the borough assembly will authorize applying for a loan for the project at their regular meeting Tuesday night (Oct. 22). The federal loan will not exceed $3 million. It will finance restoring the siding and structural repairs to doors, roofing, windows and walls. The federal loan is from the United States Department of Agriculture/Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan Program.
