Talk on the Rock: Wrangell Kids Club organizers on the new after-school program

Episode 26: Wrangell is about to launch an after-school kids club. Three locations around town will host it: Community Center, Irene Ingle Public Library and The Nolan Center. Organizers of the program, Devyn Johnson, Sarah Scambler and Jeanie Arnold, chat with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about why and how the program exists. They go over the activities the kids will experience and encourage parents to talk to their children about respect before they attend.

Master totem pole carver mentors five Wrangell apprentices

Master totem pole carver, TJ Sgwaayaans Young, has been in Wrangell since July. Originally from Hydaburg but resides in Anchorage, he has been guiding local Wrangell carvers on replicating a totem pole. This is the first of eight totem poles that the community plans to replicate.
