Wrangell intends to plan school budget early in wake of state’s school budget scare

This year’s school budget scare in Alaska has prompted Wrangell to plan early.

School Board decision was split on electric school bus grant

It took two special school board meetings in late summer to decide on whether Wrangell Public Schools should accept federal funds in the form of a Clean Bus Grant to obtain an electric school bus. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency offered it to the school district in 2022 in order to decrease diesel emissions.

The retired school teacher and president of the non-profit organization, WMC Cancer Care Foundation, informed the community on achievements that she and the borough assembly accomplished, the time it takes to follow through on goals and why she wants to run again.
