On Friday, August 28, 2020, Wrangell’s Unified Command was notified of a new confirmed COVID-19 case. This case was identified through a routine employee testing program, is asymptomatic and is in isolation.
Additionally, yesterday, Wrangell’s Unified Command noticed that State documents attributed one new case of COVID-19 in the community of Wrangell. Since Wrangell’s Unified Command had not received official notification of that case, the case may have been a Wrangell resident that tested positive for COVID-19 outside of Wrangell.

On Friday, August 21, 2020, Wrangell’s Unified Command was notified of a new confirmed COVID-19 case. This case was identified through a routine employee testing program, is asymptomatic and is in isolation. To-date, Wrangell has had 16 positive COVID cases, 9 were identified through routine employer testing, 4 through airport testing, 3 through other testing platforms. 10 of the cases are local residents, 6 are non-residents. One is currently active and 15 cases have recovered.

Captain Dorianne Sprehe brings us the 8-19-20 COVID update. Wrangell’s COVID count remains unchanged with 15 total cases, all of which have recovered. Dorianne wants to thank everyone for working to getting the case number back to zero.
