Borough Assembly approves funds to start recycling

The Wrangell Borough Assembly Tuesday approved a recycling plan for the community and allocated $50,000 to get it started. The program will start with dropoff locations for recyclables and eventually work up to curbside pickup.

Downtown waterfront development team seeks public input

A waterfront planning team is in Wrangell this week to find out how the community wants to develop its downtown waterfront. The team is seeking public input to form a plan that will aim to balance the needs of locals, businesses and visitors.

P&Z Commission approves Bay Company request

The Wrangell Planning and Zoning Commission voted Thursday to approve The Bay Company’s request to purchase city-owned land adjacent to its property. The commission’s vote serves as a recommendation to the Borough Assembly, which will make the final decision.

Board of Game to consider moose antler regulation changes

The Alaska Board of Game will meet in Juneau starting Friday to consider proposed changes to Department of Fish and Game regulations for the Southeast region. The Wrangell Fish and Game Advisory Committee has a few proposals that the Board of Game will decide on in the next week.
