Pool improvements top assembly’s budget request list

The Wrangell Borough Assembly voted Wednesday to approve a capital budget request list for the upcoming fiscal year. Fixing the swimming pool is the first priority, followed by boat yard improvements, a sewer pump replacement, and funding for a new hospital.

The Green Dot campaign is based on the premise that anyone can make the choice to help prevent violence in the community by intervening in situations that could lead to interpersonal, sexual or partner violence.

Port Commission reviews Mariner’s Memorial design

The Wrangell Port Commission Thursday reviewed a nearly complete design for the Mariner’s Memorial. The commission also discussed harbor parking lot policies after receiving a written complaint about the lack of long-term parking options.
