Salard sentenced to 20 years in prison

Former Wrangell doctor Greg Salard was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography.

Forest Service seeks input on new Anan master plan, mooring float

A controversial dock project at the Anan Wildlife Observatory near Wrangell was scrapped last fall after it was found to be too expensive, and now the U.S. Forest Service has a new draft plan for accessing the observatory and for constructing additional improvements. The Wrangell Ranger District is asking for public input this month before moving forward with its construction plans.

Vehicle takes down playground fence

A driver lost control of a vehicle in Wrangell Monday morning and took down at least 200 feet of fencing around the Shoemaker Bay playground.

Borough Assembly approves capital project list, bumps up new fire truck
