Wrangell residents learn how seawater can heat buildings

Andy Baker of YourCleanEnergy LLC was in Wrangell Monday to introduce a cleaner, cheaper heating source. Seawater-based heat pumps use a small amount of electricity to lift heat out of the ocean.

National Park Service helps parks & rec design new trails

Trail planning consultants came to Wrangell this month to help Parks and Recreation staff move forward with the community’s Sustainable Outdoor Recreation Plan. The group flagged trail corridors that would extend and connect existing trails.

Wrangell beaches tested for water quality

City Park and Petroglyph Beach are undergoing weekly water quality testing this summer. The Southeast Alaska Watershed Coalition is monitoring the water for bacteria that could be harmful to beachgoers.
