Assembly sets transitional due dates for 2015 property taxes

The Wrangell Borough Assembly voted Tuesday to make 2015 a transitional year for the new property tax due date. This year, the first half of property tax payments will be due Sept. 15, and the second half is due by Dec. 15.

Shellfish testing shows normal levels of contaminants

Shellfish testing revealed clams and cockles on some Wrangell beaches do not contain abnormal amounts of heavy metals or other contaminants, according to a study released by the Wrangell Cooperative Association earlier this month.
