This week was suppose to be Wrangell Borough Manager Bob Prunella's last week on the job. Those plans changed when the Wrangell Assembly asked Prunella to stay on while the Borough continues to find his permanent replacement. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.

The Wrangell Medical Center Foundation took advantage of Memorial Day Weekend to hold their Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Wrangell's Muskeg Meadows. Later, golfers and non-golfers enjoyed an evening of fun at the WMC Foundation's Dinner and Auction. Proceeds from the event went toward various projects at the Wrangell Medical Center. The Southeast Alaska Research Consortium (SEARHC) recently received a grant that will bring two Southeast Alaska communities and traditional native foods together. KSTK's Tony Gorman reports.

The Borough of Wrangell have cut the list of candidates for the next Wrangell borough manager down to five. The Borough is searching to replace Bob Prunella, who is retiring at the end of the month. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.

Governor Sarah Palin made a stop in Wrangell,Wednesday afternoon, during a trip through the Southeast to sign a bill concerning boating safety. It was Palin's first visit to city as Alaska governor. Her arrival to Wrangell was delayed because she was in Petersburg signing an education bill sponsored by Wrangell Representative Peggy Wilson. As KSTK's Tony Gorman reports, many Wrangellites were willing to wait.
