Wrangell Assembly Tables AK/BC Intertie Plan, Applies for FERC Permit in DC

At last night's meeting, the Wrangell Assembly sent a plan concerning the use of the remaining AK/BC Intertie funds back the Wrangell Energy Committee for revision. The move comes just two days before they are scheduled to present the plan at this week's Alaska Energy Authority meeting. The Assembly also discussed a recent trip to Washington, DC, where representatives officially applied for a permit with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to develop hydro-electric power at Ruth Lake. Wrangell Energy Committiee Draws Up Proposal for AEA

The Alaska Energy Authority is meeting with Wrangell officials, next week, over remaining AK/BC Intertie funds. Last December, the Wrangell Assembly voted to move forward in asking for the release of the funds to complete the project. The Wrangell Energy Committee was charged with coming up with a basic action plan on how the funds will be used. KSTK's Tony Gorman has more.
