Chloe Massin to serve 45-day sentence for felony assault

Local resident Chloe Massin was sentenced Monday at the Wrangell Courthouse to serve 45 days in prison for felony assault. Although the minimum sentence for felony assault is five years, Prosecutor Jane Seaton requested a much shorter sentence.

WMC chief financial officer resigns

The chief financial officer of Wrangell Medical Center and Alaska Island Community Services has resigned to pursue a different job opportunity. The WMC Board of Directors discussed possible courses of action to fill the CFO position, but they did not make a decision.
