On October 7th, Wrangell Voters will get to elect officials to the Borough Assembly, the Hospital Board, and the Port Commission. Voters will also get to weigh in on three ballot measures.
This week KSTK will air interviews with individuals running for elected seats. Yesterday we heard from Wilma Stokes and Marilyn Mork who are running for Assembly Seat A. Today we'll hear from two candidates for Assembly Seat B, which is a three-year term. Voters will get to vote for only one.

AK-BC intertie may compete for state funding

Wrangell is trying to bring the AK-BC intertie back to life with state money. $100 million has been put into a state renewable energy grant program and the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is accepting competitive applications for renewable energy projects. AEA is in charge of allocating the money starting this winter. At Tuesday night's meeting, the Wrangell Borough Assembly discussed submitting applications for three projects, one of which is the AK-BC intertie.
